Kemtec™ Characteristics of Matter Classroom Kit

The kit contains an instructor's manual and ten experiments that focus on differentiating between the physical and chemical properties of matter. Students will explore various characteristics of matter such as color, odor, solubility, shape, size, texture, density, alkalinity, acidity, states of matter, boiling point, and melting point. The kit includes a graph that illustrates melting and boiling points. Additionally, students will observe the chemical reactions of five solutions with other solutions, and from these reactions, they will determine the identity of two unknown solutions. The kit also includes reproducible student data sheets, assessment questions, and answer keys. However, a balance, ice, and glassware are required but not included in the kit. This kit is designed for 24 students, working in six groups of four, and meets national standards for grades 6-9.
