Mura Press #1: Area Codes

Mura Press is a newsprint art and design publication that showcases new work by artists and designers of color. Issue #1: Area Codes features a body of work by Los Angeles-based designer Joseph Anthony that explores the space between the objective and the representational. By studying society’s several forms of language, Area Codes bends the barriers of (mis)communication and streamlines a culmination of cultures into a single vernacular. This issue includes an interview with Anthony and a collaborative section where Anthony's visuals are accompanied by a text by graphic designer Carolyn Rhee.
