About Dreamers Art Collective’s Originals: “A Room of One’s Own” series, I have been conceptualizing rooms as comforting havens filled with flora, fauna, and artifacts representing diverse cultures. 48”x 36” In “A Room of One’s Own” I envision an imaginary haven where one feels safe, nurtured peaceful and creative. I integrate more than 30 layers of my manipulated photographic images with acrylic paint and repurposed materials (such as palm bark, textiles, , feathers, laundry lint, palette paint, wood and pencil shavings, and glistening beads provide added texture and accentuate the narrative. I invite the viewer into a reclusive world of unbridled imagination in which emotional desires, dreams and unique experiences are conveyed onto canvases filled with intense color and skewed perspectives.
