1880 Macedonian Bridal Embroidery

Wonderful hand stitched and beaded Macedonian embroidery, cut from a Bridal sleeve-let, from the Prilepsko Pole area, circa 1880.  The design is partially metal thread, and partially red, burgundy and black silks, traditional to Western Macedonia, with beads and metal bead details. Signs of wear appropriate for age and use. Has at some point been backed with black silk. Some small glue/ stitch marks on the back, where it was removed from first the sleeve, and then a frame.  8" height x 10 1/4" width
