Solid Maple Wood Neuron Carving

A unique piece inspired by the drawings of Spanish neuroscientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Solid Hard Maple is stained with a transparent driftwood dye, then carved with the iconic 19th century diagram of a human neuron. The carving itself is brushed with a silver metallic paint to make a bold statement. The frame itself is natural Hard Maple, integrated with the main piece. The entire piece is finished in multiple coats of satin lacquer, then hand buffed to a soft sheen. The back is fitted with a kraft paper artist dust cover. To facilitate hanging, a wire gallery string and eyelets are mounted on the back. Dimensions: 22.5" x 17.5" x 1.25" thick
