"Total Solar Eclipse" - Magnetic Levitation Kinetic Sculpture

In this design I've achieved the greatest gap yet between the floating magnet and the bismuth around it. The solar eclipse effect is made possible with a light behind the sculpture (light is not included). Full of possibility, this crystal pillar is reminiscent of the solar eclipse when the white hot radiance of the sun completely encompasses the cool majesty of a weightless moon. In anticipation of the total solar eclipse coming to my native land mass on August 21, 2017, I created this little marvel where a magnet can permanently escape the oppression of our massive planet's force without leaving the atmosphere. Dimensions: Total measurements including the base are 4x4x9 inches. The metal itself measures approximately 5” tall and 1” square Set Up: Place the sculpture on a stable, flat surface. Gently position the magnet in the center of the device. Turn the crown magnet as needed to achieve perfect levitation. Included: A sculpture similar to the images shown. A crown magnet. L
