Very pretty Victorian sterling necklace with a bird and padlock C.1890.The necklace has a convenient front closure. The central station of the necklace is catching immediate attention.The upper part of it has a beautifully hand carved birdon the round back adorned with scrolls around it.The side scrolls have Etruscan style bars attached, one of which has a spring ring clasp. The padlock pendant underneath symbolizes faithful love.The bird symbolizes a good news. The whole center piece is 55 mm wide 40 mm high.The padlock is 20 mm X 14 mm. Well crafted panther link chain necklace is 21 1/4 inches around neck.Chain 10.5 mm wide. The spring ring stamped STERLING.The padlock stamped with British sterling hallmarks.Total weight is 37 grams. Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
