The Crossing

While this reduction woodcut could be of any beach where humans have made temporary crossings from what the lake or ocean provides, it is specifically inspired by a stop I frequent off US 2 on my many crossings to visit family in Michigan. It’s a half-hidden wayside near Naubinway, MI that has provided rest, the occasional wiggle of toes in cold lake water and a breath of fresh air to fill my lungs for the many miles yet to travel.
