Universal Veil

There is another universe in the dark, damp underground. It is the realm of worms and moles, grubs and fungi. Out of sight and mind, it is easy to remain ignorant of its living complexity. But sometimes it bursts forth. Grubs hatch into flying things, which live in both the worlds of humans and of birds. And on sunny mornings, as if through some magical effort, mushrooms pop up in colorful patches of fleshy wonder around the imposing trunks of mature trees. It is in these moments, we are reminded that diversity and vitality exists beneath this veil between worlds.
