1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard
Summary: Gibson was heavily pushing the Les Paul Deluxe and Les Paul Custom during the Norlin Era years, but full-sized humbucker Standards started making their way out of the factory via special order in the mid-70s. The Les Paul Standard did not make a return to the actual catalog until 1976 and has remained in production ever since. This 1979 Les Paul Standard has a tobacco sunburst finish, a 2-piece maple top, and a thin, fast neck. Body: Mahogany with a bound 2-piece Maple top finished in Tobacco Sunburst. Neck: Three-piece neck with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, 22 frets, pearl trapezoid inlays. Pickups/Hardware: Two original humbuckers, Gibson tuning keys, 2x volume/2xtone controls/3-way pickup selector, tun-o-matic bridge/stop bar tailpiece, cream pickguard/switch ring.Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches throughout.
