Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving spoon made in 1889. This late 19th century piece is done in a classic form and the decorative, twist form shaft has a detailed, cast silver ship with huge sails. The boat looks like a war ship, frigate or brigantine. The back of the bowl has an old monogram and it is marked with old Dutch city marks and possibly a maker's mark. The piece is also marked with the lion passant for 833 minimum purity silver, the Minerva head duty mark and a date letter E for the year 1889. This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There are no damages or repairs. Length: 7 1/4 inches.Weight: 52 grams or 1.8 ounces.
