Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving spoon or souvenir/novelty spoon for the city of Amsterdam  made in 1899. The chased and twisted shafted handle is topped with a detailed finial of a sea bird with a fish in its mouth. The bird appears to be a heron, crane, egret or possibly a stork. The bowl has a repousse chased crest of the city of Amsterdam. The bowl bears the Dutch lion passant for 833 minimum purity silver. The shaft bears the Minerva head duty mark and a date letter P for the year 1899. This piece is in excellent condition, especially for its age and the designs are crisp. There are no damages or repairs. Length: 7 5/8 inches.Weight: 56 grams or 2 ounces.
