Luca Madrassi Italian French Bronze 30" Statue The Lovers d'Amoreaux PICKUP ONLY
**PICK UP ONLY** Presented is a fantastic quality large size bronze after Italian sculptor Luca Madrassi (b. 1848-d. 1919). This particular bronze dates to around the 1950s, but is an exceptionally faithful casting, likely of French origin. The statue depicts a pair of lovers in very rich and dynamic detail, quite expressive and well done down to the texture of their hair and the intricate, realistic folds of their clothing. The man is seen with one arm around the woman and holding her hand, with his other hand on his chest-- caught in the middle of some kind of declaration. The bronze has a rich deep brown patina, and is solidly cast-- this is not a hollow piece, it weighs approximately 110 pounds, which we compared to another bronze on hand of only a little smaller size, which weighed approximately 42 pounds.
