Cave de Cairanne 'Les Terres Vierges' Cotes du Rhone Chantecotes 2019 (Rhone Valley, France)
Cave de Cairanne was founded in 1929 in the heart of the Cru of the Meridional Vallee of the Rhône, in the Vaucluse region of the Rhone Valley. A cooperative of around 65 winemakers, Cave de Cairanne produces an impressive range of varietals and styles, all excellent examples of Rhône wines. This wine is a classic Côtes du Rhône blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvedre. The nose is spicy with hints of tobacco and lots of dark fruit. On the palate we get brambly berries and peppery spice, with additional notes of dried herbs and well integrated tannins all leading to a long, pleasantly earthy finish. Food Ideas: Lamb kofta kebabs, portobello burger, BBQ ribs, crispy mustard chicken, wild boar ragu, pan seared duck breast with a red wine sauce 60% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah, 10% Carignan, 10% Mourvedre. ABV: 14.5%
