Kermit Lynch Cotes du Rhone 2022 (Rhone Valley, France)

This Cotes du Rhone is a collaboration between importer Kermit Lynch (one of our favorites!) and winemaker Jean-Francois Pasturel of Terres d’Avignon. A blend of 48% Grenache, 39% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre, 5% Carignan, 1% Marselan, and 1% Cinsault, this wine is a stunning example of well made, approachable Rhone wines. On the nose and palate we get black cherries, stone, and peppery spice. A pleasant earthiness and rustic tannin make for a hearty and complex wine. Aging in cement creates a structured wine with good acidity. Give this bottle about 30 to 45 minutes of air to really see it shine.
