Decibel Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (Hawkes Bay, New Zealand)

Touring musicians can definitely burnout in worse ways than falling in love with New Zealand wine and moving to the other side of the globe to pursue your passion. This American found a new home on the East Coast of NZ's northern island, and is now sustainably farming and producing unique Sauvignon Blancs from the region. It definitely doesn't taste like your typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, and that's exactly what we like about it. Perhaps he brings some immigrant ingenuity to the local style? We get lovely floral aromatics on the nose, with stone and melon fruit on the palate, but not too much!
