What the VTA mod does, is allows you to hear the turbos in your truck blowing off excess pressure, amounting to a loud "HISS" or "WHOOSH" sound when you let off the throttle. Ford has done an incredible job of keeping these trucks close to being silent, but not everyone likes them that way! The way these trucks are setup from the factory, is to vent the excess pressure from the blow off valve back into the air intake system so that the sound is attenuated and virtually unheard.
