Holding Hands Bench - Black Oak
There was wooden bench in the park. It had seen many seasons come and go, watched countless people come and sit, and listened to their stories. One day, a couple sat down on the bench. They were holding hands, their fingers intertwined, and they leaned in close to each other. As the sun began to set, the couple got up and walked away, but the bench felt their presence linger. It was as if their love had seeped into the wood. Not unlike the love I put into my woodworking pieces. Then a strange thing happened on this bench. Whenever two people sat down on the bench, they would end up holding hands. It was almost as if the bench had a magical power to bring people closer together. The bench became known as the "hand holding bench" and it was a favorite spot for couples to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, or simply make eye contact as they leave a dear friend’s house. Years will go by, and the bench will grow old. But it will never lose its power to bring people closer together. I
