We have seen failures on SeaStar Seals in as little as 3-5 years and we think products at a minimum should last 10 Years for this reason we produced this kit using all Viton seals on the Rod Assembly.   Viton is a super material formulated by Dupont and it's used in everything from Fuel Systems to Chemical Manufacturing it has a working life of about 30 years this will outlast most all applications. The Newer SeaStar systems seem to be failing and leaking at a very rapid rate and even on our personal boats its a big problem.
