It’s supposed to be the best Whiskey you’ll ever taste but let’s talk some facts, shall we? It was distilled in early 1974 at the now silent Michter’s Distillery near Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania. The distillery eventually went bankrupt and this well-aged Bourbon had never been put to use. So, it was bought and Julian Van Winkle III bottled the brand — A.H. Hirsch Reserve. The labels from this edition will say bottled in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and are known as the “blue wax”.
