Cloudburst Oolong

Harvested from an unsprayed, high elevation tea garden in Jianshi Shan, Hsinchu County. It hails from the same mountain as our Diva High Mountain. It is related to a previous tea we roast which we called 'Sunburst', however this tea is more subdued and contemplative than it's cousin. I love well roasted high mountain oolong. High mountain oolong is such an 'up' tea, smooth and sweet but because they are usually drunk raw they posses a green-ness which can feel heady. This tea was roasted gently to bring that wild mountain energy down into a more grounded profile, but doesn't necessarily taste toasty or nutty. I would call it mineral. The result is a very stable and deep tea, like a rainy day in a calm, cozy place. But if you give it the space to show up, there's also a nuanced floral aroma deep in there, almost like the sun hidden behind the clouds. This is a quiet, meditative tea.
