Ghost Whale - "Dive:Two" Compact Disc

Belgian band Ghost​​​:​​​Whale are out with the double album "Dive II", and I guess that this is a production to be filed somewhere in the experimental part of the metal section. Or just plainly as experimental music without further style designations. When you have a trio consisting of two bassists and one drummer, that also make use of samples and sound effects, the end result will have a tendency to be a tad on the less conventional side of manners. In this case we get plenty of elongated trips through landscapes where a hard bass supply the groove and is backed up by a steady drummer, with the second bassist at least at times having a more expressive role. Presumably we have parts where both bassists are going full speed ahead while the use of samples and effects caters for the mood and atmosphere too, as well as parts where the rhythm elements in part or in whole takes a more subdued position while the samples and effects transports the landsca
