Van Cleef & Arpels Catchall

A sterling silver and horn catchall. This fabulous piece is expertly made, perfectly integrating the horn body into the heavy sterling silver base and top. It has been polished to a very handsome shine, without being to bright, and the slightly warn silver works beautifully against it. It is an ideal piece to place by a front door for keys and change, or on a dresser for cufflinks and change.  It could also be used as a desk tidy.   The piece is hand signed 'Van Cleef & Arpels' on the base, along with the unique registration numbers stamped with the French poinçon of the crab. The top is stamped with the French poinçon of the crab for silver and makers mark of Ste Lev who made a number of objects and silver items of virtue for Van Cleef. Made in France, circa 1960's.
