Weckström Gold & Goldstone Cufflinks

An unusual organic and almost 'Brutalist' looking pair of solid fourteen carat gold and goldstone cufflinks. The cufflnks are a fixed bar design, with a simple 'whale tail' hinged rear panel that will easily pass throuigh the cuff.  The links are designed and made by celebrated Finnish jeweler; Björn Weckström.  Weckström is an important jeweler and artist who's work has appeared in many galleries such as the Boston MoMa, and the V & A in London.  An interesting feature to his work was his use of textures and finishes.  He was one of the firm artist/jewelers to apply a mat finish to gold.  These links were made in Finland in 1968, and represent quite an early example of his work.
