Grown in the secluded northern coastal mountains of Venezuela, Chuao cacao is carefully fermented and sun-dried in the village’s historic courtyards—an artisanal tradition that has been preserved for generations. Fresco Chocolate was honored to receive a small shipment of authentic Chuao cacao from the 2020 harvest, allowing us to craft an artisan dark chocolate bar that celebrates this rare origin.
