Box of Organic Tamarillo

Tamarillo or tomate de árbol is in the same family as tomatoes, but grow in a habit of a tree. They are native to the Andes mountains in South America. The skin is bitter but the flesh tastes sweet and tropical with the texture of a tomato! We like to cut them in half and scoop out the flesh or cut the tip and squeeze out the flesh straight into our mouth. Store these at room temp. Grown in Goleta.
