During the American Revolution, body armor was almost non-existent for soldiers because it was useless against muskets. When used, it was generally called a cuirass (steel breastplate) for cavalry or a gorget (neck armor) for officers. Some soldiers occasionally used heavy, outdated 17th-century armor, but they were usually abandoned due to weight constraints and inefficiency. Thus, we bring you the Antithesis™ Plate Carrier, a distinct lightweight opponent to heavy armor worn by soldiers of the past and even today. Antithesis means something that is the direct opposite of something else, and in today’s modern battlefield, speed and agility can be the difference (antithesis) between life and death.
