I made A Marine Mountain Flies Toward the Islands by gluing cut-out shapes of canvas over stretched canvas and then, after they were securely attached, forcibly ripping the cut-out shapes of canvas off the main support. I then painted over a majority of the distressed canvas. In an act of both further violence and faux attempts at repair, I continued to attack the canvas by stabbing it with an embroidery needle, covering the tiny slivers of canvas that remained after the canvas removal with embroidered thread. With the other pieces in the End
