French Feves and Santons
This listing is for an assorted batch of 20 antique feves/santons. Each hand painted piece will be hand picked by me and wrapped carefully. Each piece will vary in size from approximately .5 inch 2 inches in height. (4 sets available) Antique Feves and santons sourced directly from France. These small figurines are used in French Christmas celebrations. Feves are baked into king cakes, while santons are used in nativity scenes. FEVE'S - The French word feve means "bean". Feves are baked into king cakes, or Galette des Rois, on the Epiphany. Finding a feve in your slice of cake is considered good luck. Feves are saved and collected. Feves can be used as dollhouse decorations or cake toppers. SANTONS - The word santon comes from the Provençal word santoun, which means "little saint". Santons are clay figurines that are used to create nativity scenes. Santons became popular during the French Revolution when churches were closed. Santons are used in homes and schools.
