Princess-Length Strand of Petite Pearls

A petite princess-length strand of luminous white pearls. The nicely matched cultured pearls are hand-knotted on white silk and finished with a 14k white gold filigreed bead clasp. This is a great pearl necklace for a young person. A starter strand, if you will. Circa 1960. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
