awkward silence

Drop 009 was made with cold weather and warm winter cheer in mind. Our idea was to send you a wine that could be opened on its own, or accompany all sorts of cold weather fare. Zinfandel is one of our go-to’s for versatility, and for some reason it just tastes particularly good in the coldest winter months. Awkward Silence is approximately two thirds Zinfandel, and one third Petite Sirah, a combination which is sort of a modern day classic combination thanks in large part to Dave’s first wine project. There is plenty of brambly berry fruit in this wine, with some darker spice and chocolate notes that will play very nicely with typical holiday dishes. Also, there is so much effusive fruit in this wine that it doesn’t really need any food to coax it out at all, it’s the perfect party wine.
