Olio Nuovo Extra Virgin Olive Oil
When olio nuovo season arrives, Italians rejoice! The very first olive oil of the harvest each year, this “new oil” is fresh and vibrant, with a lively, bold flavor that puts other olive oils to shame. This year, we’re thrilled to have received a small supply of our own olio nuovo from our friends in Liguria. It’s made with the same native Taggiasca olives used for our fan-favorite extra virgin olive oil, gently cold-pressed to preserve their healthy antioxidants and complex character. Very limited quantities available; when it’s gone, it won’t be back until next year! Our olive oil producer harvested a very small crop of their Taggiasca olives early to make this precious olio nuovo. As a result, the oil’s flavor is more pronounced than our standard olive oil, fruitier and more complex. Savor it immediately, drizzled over soups, salads, and pastas or simply drizzled over toasted bruschetta.
