Description:  A nice looking about uncirculated 1809 Mexican silver coin. This is the Ferdinand the seventh 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Ferdinand VII of Spain facing right, on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "FERDIN.VII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1809 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPANIA.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark "Mo" then 8R. T.H. all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The is graded About Uncirculated (AU 55) by ANACS with the notation "SCRATCHED" and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. We have examined the coin very closely and were unable to identify an objectionable scratch. We do see some small scratches and bag marks but nothing that distracts from the beauty of the coin. This is a truly nice coin with nice eye appeal worthy of a spot in your Mexican coin
