Description: A great looking and fairly lustrous extremely fine to about uncirculated 1814 Mexican silver coin. This is the Ferdinand the seventh 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Ferdinand VII of Spain facing right, on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "FERDIN.VII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1814 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPANIA.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark "Mo" then 8R. J.J. all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin is lustrous and shows all the details very well. It is a truly a nice coin with great eye appeal and has nice heft to it. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 1814.Origin: Mexico.
