Description: A great looking and nicely toned extremely fine 1820 Mexican silver coin. This is the Ferdinand VII 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Ferdinand the Seventh of Spain on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "FERDIN.VII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1820 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPANIA.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark "Zs" then 8R. A.G." all surrounding the arms. The coin was minted in the city of Zacatecas. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin is nicely toned and shows all the details very well. It is graded EF45 by ANACS and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. It is a truly a nice coin with great eye appeal and has nice heft to it.
