Description: Antique manganese and lead glazed redware miniature pitcher. This 19th century miniature has a beautiful classic shape and a greenish-brown glaze reminiscent of the glazes Jacob Medinger was famous for. The pitcher has a flat base rising to a neck in a bulbous shape. At the neck the sides flare out to a plain rim having a spout. The pitcher has a nice applied handle. The Pitcher has several lightly incised lines at the shoulder below the neck as decoration. It is glazed with a greenish-brown colored background having the dark brown splotches associated with manganese glazing. A very nice shape and rare color.  Please review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Late 1800's. Origin: Southeastern Pennsylvania Size: Measures 2 3/16" diameter at the base, 3 7/8" high, and is 3 5/8" at its widest including the handle and the spout.
