Antique Schofield Dark Brown Lead Glazed Redware Creamer Spout & Applied Handle
Description: A early 20th century dark brown lead glazed redware creamer attributed to Henry Schofield Pottery in Chester County Pennsylvania/Cecil County Maryland. This glazed creamer has a flat round base with slightly rounded sides rising to a shoulder which flares outwards to a plain rim. The shoulder is decorated with two raised parallel rings. The creamer has a spout and an applied strap handle. The piece is glazed inside and out with the bottom being also glazed. The piece has the typical Schofield dark brown/black foot ring. The piece also has the usual rough surface again typical of Schofield primitive pottery. A nice antique piece of redware from around the Mason-Dixon line.
