Army Corps of Engineers 1944 Study Harold Fisk Mississippi River Map Sheet 1 Fine Art Print This River Meander, Mississippi River map print is a giclee reproduction and features the ancient courses of the Mississippi River created by cartographer and geologist Harold Fisk for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in 1944. Each of the fifteen plates depicts a different portion of the Mississippi River and its various courses over time between Cape Girardeau, MO and Donaldsonville, LA. This is Plate 22, Sheet 1 and features the area from Cairo, IL (top of map) to the western portion of Carlisle County in Kentucky (bottom of map). The third image you see above is all fifteen of the maps in this series superimposed over a map of the US.
