Kakuda and Common share the belief in universal, timeless homeware designed to last a lifetime. Kakuda studied at the Royal College of Art and Design in London before returning to Japan in 2008, where he began his career as a product designer at Muji. After designing numerous GOOD DESIGN Award-winning products, including our favorite City Pop clock line by Lumens, he joined forces with Common in 2014 to design their line of classic, durable tableware.
