The Chojuro Asian Pear Tree (Pyrus pyrifolia ‘Chojuro’) is a mid-size deciduous fruiting pear tree that is broad in structure. It's size, reliability and strength makes it a wonderful addition to any backyard orchard. Expect fragrant white blossoms in the spring, followed by broad green leaves that lead way to of delectable pears that are best known for their butterscotch like flavor. Try to eat just one! The fruit is a medium to large size, often nearly a pound; roundish, a good winter keeper.  Chojuro is moderately susceptible to fire blight; resistant to pear scab and black spot. At least two cultivars are needed to ensure adequate pollination.
