North Star Cherry Tree

The North Star Cherry Tree (Prunus 'North Star') is a deciduous compact-growing fruit tree featuring showy white flowers in spring followed by large dark red sour cherries in mid summer. North Star is a genetic dwarf specimen making it an ideal size for backyard orchards, The famous cherry blooms show themselves around mid-May, the fruit ripens around late June. Cherries are plump tart-sweet, red-skinned, making them excellent for pies and jams, desserts, and all of your savory recipes, eat these tasty treats by the handfuls straight from the tree! North Star grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years. This is a self-pollinating variety, so it doesn't require a second plant nearby to set fruit, but planting two or more trees will ensure the best crop.Fruit production will start during the first to second growing season.
