Willamette Red Raspberry

The Willamette Red Raspberry bush (Rubus idaeus var. strigosus 'Willamette') is deciduous self-fertile, semi-trailing floricane variety that reliably yields firm, medium-sized, dark red fruit that ripens in midsummer (June-July). Small white flowers precede fruit on erect canes. Willamette Raspberry is the classic raspberry with deep red juice that is sweet, tart, and great for all your favorite berry recipes.   Plant in full sun to partial shade in well drained loamy soils.  Harvest Time: June - July. Raspberries ripen in stages as the plants produce blooms and develop berries, it's best to harvest the ripe raspberries twice or more a week. Pick the darkest berries by hand. Ripe Raspberries will pull from the stems without crushing or tearing at the tops.
