Nakayama Tomae Kiita Iromono Nashiji Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. A tested and matched nagura is included. It measures 160 mm (6.30 inches) long × 75 mm (2.95 inches) wide × 25 mm (0.98 inches) tall, and weighs 733 g (25.86 oz / 1.62 lbs). Hardness: 4.8This Nakayama stone was sourced from the Hatanaka Mining Company's remaining rough stone stock after closing. All of the Nakayama stones in this batch represent older mining. They are from the exact same stock as the famous "Maruka" stamped Nakayama but they were stored in raw ore form, therefore not stamped with Hatanaka/Maruka stamps. This razor sized Kiita has excellent length. It's pure vivid yellow Kiita base has swirling Iromono reds and Nashiji which converge to create a whirlwind type pattern on the stones face.
