Agave ocahui - Ocahui Century Plant
Agave ocahui This is another wonderful spherical-shaped, solitary Agave. Ocahui Century Plant has 1-2 ft. long narrow, strap-like smooth green leaves with no marginal teeth, just a strip of white to brown along the leaf edges, but the leaf tips are armed with a short, sharp spine. These Agaves are native to the medium-high desert scrublands of Sonora, Mexico. Even though they occupy dry deserts, these dark green rounded plants look more tropical. Provide them with well-draining soil and they will tolerate some supplemental summer waterings. Pronounced Oh-cow-ee, these Agaves are prized for minimalistic grid plantings and as sculptural, adaptable container specimens.
