Dodonaea viscosa - Green Hopseed Bush

Dodonaea viscosa Green Green Hopseed Bush is a broadleaf native, evergreen shrub. Leaves are alternate, green, narrow and long, 2-3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, leathery, margins are entire and wavy or crinkled, the apex pointed or rounded. The flowers, which are inconspicuous and lack petals, are yellow to orange-red and in 1-inch long clusters. Pollinated flowers give way to hop-like papery seeds that cover plants from late summer into fall for additional, seasonal interest. Some seeds are often tinged with red.
