Dodonaea viscosa Purple - Purple Hopseed Bush

Dodonaea viscosa Purple Purple Hopseed Bush is a broadleaf evergreen shrub native to Australia. Leaves are alternate, green, narrow and long, 2-3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, leathery, margins are entire and wavy or crinkled, the apex pointed or rounded. The leaves of this Dodonea are more purple than its green counterpart and become a deeper purple still in the fall. The flowers, which are inconspicuous and lack petals, are yellow to orange-red and in 1 inch long clusters.
