Teepee Canyon South Dakota Agate Earrings in Sterling Silver

This type of agate hails from South Dakota and is known as a Teepee Canyon agate. Some also do call them South Dakota Dry Head agate not to be confused with the Montana version. This agate formed in voids in light brown chert. These earrings are a burnt orange color similar to fall leaves. These agates are uncommon so you don't see them as jewelry very often. I cut the stones in domed rounds and set them in solid sterling silver. The ear wires are argentium sterling silver which is tarnish resistant and easy to clean.
