Thomsonite Necklace Stainless Steel Chain Grand Marias Minnesota
Thomsonite is a rare gemstone found only in a couple of places throughout the world. This piece was collected in northern MN near Grand Marias and came to me in a collection I purchased as a beach washed pebble. I shaped it in a teardrop where the top and back are the host basalt with a polished piece of thomsonite at the base. I drilled this piece and secured it with a stainless steel bail. The included 20 inch chain is also stainless steel. This basalt is pretty soft so it polishes to a satin luster with the thomsonite being brighter which helps it to stand out.
