Toledo Ohio Fordite Necklace in Stainless Steel, EB102

This fordite necklace features Ohio sourced fordite from the plant at Parkway in Toledo. I cut the stone in a domed round and set in in stainless steel. The included 20 inch snake chain is also stainless steel and has a lobster clasp closure. All stainless steel means worry free jewelry. The fordite stone measures about 16 mm across. The setting including the bail is about 33 mm tall. Please see the picture with the nickel for scale. Fordite is recycled automotive paint sourced from automotive factories as well as manufacturers who paint parts for new vehicles. It forms in thin layers as car parts are painted on the racks that hold them in place. After hundreds of trips through the booth where the paint is sprayed and then baked the excess buildup is scraped off the racks.
