Wisconsin Moonstone Necklace, Sterling Silver, Blue Color Flash
This is a beautiful rare blue flash Wisconsin Moonstone necklace in solid sterling silver. This type of natural moonstone is primarily found near Wausau Wisconsin and can display flash in blue or silver. The base color in this moonstone is a light brown. The flash is blue. I shaped the moonstone in a flat teardrop and set it in solid sterling silver .925. I chose a heart shaped bezel to hold the stone and textured the back with a northern forest design. Natural moonstones will have small imperfections visible on close inspection on their surface due to how these stones form as a type of feldspar that forms in layers. I stabilize the stones during the cutting process. The chain is solid sterling silver and is 20 inches in length. This pendant measures about 1.38 x .7 in inches or about 35 mm tall. I used my own hand forged and formed recycled sterling silver for the back of the pendant and the bail for this piece. The pendant is antiqued (intentionally darkened) to bring out the pattern
